AudioA WINS GRAMMY and THANKS FANS!
Audio Adrenaline received their first GRAMMY Award, in the Best Rock Gospel Album category for their work on “Worldwide”. The band was unable to attend the 46th Annual Awards Ceremony, but they were able to rock out on stage with a crowd of junkies that were just as excited as they were! An Adrenaline Junkie and merchandise volunteer, known as Lizzie, experienced the whole thing and spoke with the band after the concert. This is what she had to report:

"I had such an amazing time..., I'm still in denial... but on an adrenaline high ... I typed this 1/2 asleep and it was interesting trying to transcribe it at 4am --- be blessed... Lizzie *grin*

Who was the first person to congratulate you on winning you GRAMMY?
Ben: Matt from RelientK called me when it was announced and said, "Let me be the first to congratulate you. You guys got our award."

What was your immediate reaction when you found out you had won your first Grammy?
Will : It was crazy...I don't know...my first reaction was kinda disbelief.

Ben: Here's a funny story, I'll tell you a funny story, when you lose in the Grammy's four times, you're like oh it's no big deal, it's just the Grammy's, it's just a vanity award. But then when you do win, it's a big deal all of a sudden, I don't know if we should be excited because any time we lose "we're like it's just the GRAMMYS or at the Dove Awards, we're like it's just the Dove Awards, but when you win you're excited about winning, it's the whole American double standard thing.

Do you regret not being at the Grammy's to receive the award?
Ben: I don't personally because I'm from St Louis [where the band was playing that night]. I wouldn't have gotten to see my parents or hang out with my family all day. When we found out my family was actually right there, so they got kind of hyper for us.

Mark : No, I have no qualms about not being there because we had a great time here in St. Louis...so no I'm glad we came here.

If you could give your acceptance speech, what would you say?
Tyler: I'd have to say, we'd thank family, friends and the fans.

Where will the Grammy be kept?
Will : I'm not sure yet.

Mark : On the back of my toilet seat.

Who accepted the award for you?
Mark: No one, only the band can accept it. We didn't know that so I was going to have a friend of mine accept it for us, but he couldn't do it.

What are your plans for celebrating tonight?
Mark : we are going to go home and go to sleep

-------------------

"After five nominations we never thought we would have the honor of winning a Grammy, but once again we are blown away by God's faithfulness," said lead singer Mark Stuart. "Thanks to everyone who voted and a special thanks to ForeFront Records, BrickHouse Entertainment, William Morris Agency, Bridge Street Artists Agency and to our producers and engineers, Jason Burkum, Charlie Peacock, Nathan Dantzler, Aaron Swihart, Richie Biggs, Shane Wilson, Tony Palacios and Joe Baldridge."

With their ninth ForeFront Records release, Worldwide released February 25, 2003. This album included the successful song, "Ocean Floor," which held the #1 spot at both AC & CHR radio for several weeks. Now their most recent single, "Leaving 99" is hitting airwaves and garnering much acclaim as the fastest added song of 2004. Dubbed as a handbook on how to worship through your actions and not just words, Worldwide is filled with anthemic rock songs reminiscent of the style that has made Audio Adrenaline one of the most memorable youth group bands in Christian music history. With help from producers Charlie Peacock and Jason Burkum, Worldwide features a collection of songs that sound a rallying cry to youth.

ALSO: AudioA is up for three Dove Awards this year: Rock Recorded Song of the Year, Rock/Contemporary Album of the Year, Long Form Music Video of the Year. Check out the full list of nominees below.
